Smoke Free Facilitator

An exciting opportunity for an experienced Smoke Free Health Promoter or Clinician looking for a change.
This is a part time 0.5 FTE (37.5hrs per fortnight) position
The Primary Health team is seeking an experienced Smoke Free Health Promoter or Clinician to provide leadership and support to NBPH practices in the area of smoking ABC. 
You will be leading and managing the progress, and facilitation of the the Ministry of Health (MOH) better help for smokers to quit health target and will be responsible for ensuring that the ABC approach is integrated into the everyday practice of all NBPH general practices.
This role will provide you with an opportunity to diversify and enrich your experience as a health promotor and provide you with leadership and project management experience. 
We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic person with the following skills and attributes;  
•    An acknowledged and respected Clinician or Health Promotor with experience and interest in developing programmes that improve patient outcomes and contribute to the integration of services across the systems
•    Strong relationship building and interpersonal skills
•    Demonstrated results in leading, developing and facilitating programmes and engaging other health care professionals in delivering these
•    An understanding of the general practice context, culture and its role as a provider in the wider healthcare system
•    A well organised, self-starter with excellent interpersonal skills
•    A good understanding of data and its application to improve the quality of healthcare delivery to patients
•    Effective report writing, presentation and project management skills
•    Qualification or experience in smoking cessation would be desirable but not essential

Primary Care Specialist Nurse - Respiratory

Would you like the opportunity to demonstrate your superior respiratory clinical skills and exceptional leadership abilities?
The Primary Health team is seeking an experienced registered Nurse with at least 2 years’ experience in the Health Sector, preferably in the area of respiratory health. 
This established role will be responsible for the clinical oversight of the Primary Care Respiratory Service across the Nelson/Tasman region.   
The Primary Care Specialist Nurse will provide clinical leadership support and guidance to nurses working in NBPH General Practices and ensure that they have up-to-date evidence-based respiratory knowledge. The role includes supporting Asthma Nelson to deliver Pulmonary rehabilitation programmes and supporting general practice teams to provide diagnostic spirometry testing. 
We are looking for an exceptional individual with the following skills and attributes;
•    Experience in providing expert clinical advice, professional nursing leadership and role model best practice nursing care in the area of respiratory health
•    Experience in working with patients with chronic respiratory conditions and educating health professionals
•    Experience in diagnostic spirometry testing
•    Experience with Pulmonary rehabilitation programme is preferred but not essential
•    Registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand and have a current Annual Practicing Certificate.
•     A self-motivated person with excellent interpersonal skills, strong co-ordination skills, a positive attitude and the ability to liaise effectively

Mental Health Manager – 1.0 FTE

This is a senior position, responsible for the line management of all mental health and aligned roles and the coordination of primary mental health contracts and programmes within NBPH.    

The ideal candidate will

  • be a registered clinician under the Health Practitioner Competency Assurance Act 2003 (or equivalent)
  • have proven strong team leadership skills,
  • have a flair for effective service design and delivery
  • have knowledge of Youth Development Principles
  • hold a full and current driver's licence
  • and enjoy working in a dedicated multidisciplinary team environment in the primary health sector.

Nurse Practitioner - Golden Bay Community Health

Our facility is looking for a registered Nurse Practitioner to join our general practice in beautiful Golden Bay. 

We are a practice that strongly supports the Nurse Practitioner role and are ideally looking for someone for 0.6-0.8 FTE (48-64 hours per fortnight).

Golden Bay Community Health (GBCH) has a family friendly work environment and as such the hours can be negotiable to work around children and family commitments.

General Practitioner - Golden Bay Community Health

Permanent General Practitioner in Rural General Practice

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our team at Golden Bay Community Health. This is a permanent post at 0.7 FTE with additional on call at 1 in 7.  You will join six other permanent GPs as part of a great rural team. 

GBCH is an integrated facility comprising ARC, acute admission beds, general practice, allied health services, midwifery services and visiting specialists.

Duties will include providing medical cover within GBCH. This includes general practice, acute presentations, ARC medical support, 5 acute beds. GP workload is organised into routine appointments and a rotating acute care GP.

The post will also include on-call responsibilities designed to maintain 24-7 medical cover for the community (approx. 1 in 7) - rural ACC and PRIME contracts apply. 

A large proportion of GP’s workload is around acute presentations and we offer arrange of services on site including, x ray and simple fracture management, thrombolysis, IV treatments.

The successful applicant will be employed by Nelson Bays PHO and salaried according to experience. This includes 6 weeks annual leave, 2 weeks study leave and a generous educational allowance.

We require: 
0.7 FTE
1 in 7 on call - week nights and weekends
PRIME trained & current Level 7 ACLS
Fellowship with RNZCGP or equivalent, or on the pathway towards Fellowship

We prefer:
Rural experience, although a thorough orientation will be provided
Areas of interest/expertise that can be developed further, e.g. Paediatrics, Radiology
