Hospital & Aged Care Nurse Leader - Golden Bay Community Health

Golden Bay Community Health includes a wide range of primary, secondary and community care including 24 hospital and rest home level residential care beds. 

Golden Bay Community Health (GBCH) are seeking a dynamic Nurse Leader for our Hospital & Age Care Wing.

As part of the GBCH Leadership team you will work closely with the Primary & Community Nurse Leader, the Clinical Director and the General Manager in delivering exceptional care to our community. This is Senior Nursing Position 1.0 FTE.

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience working within aged care & or acute care.

  • Have a high level of clinical, communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Experience in Aged Care accreditation requirements and standards

  • Ideall experienced in InterRAI

  • Leadership capabilities and the ability to motivate and support a team of Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses and Healthcare Assistants.

  • Experience with career force educational programmes is desirable.

Primary & Community Nurse Leader, Golden Bay Community Health

Golden Bay Community Health are seeking an exceptional senior nurse leader who has exceptional leadership, managerial and clinical skills.

The Primary & Community Nurse Leader will have a key leadership role within a multidisciplinary team within  Primary Care and Community/District. This role is 1 FTE - 80 hours per fortnight.

As part of the GBCH Leadership Team you will work closely with the Hospital & Aged Care Leader, Clinical Director and General Manager.

GBCH is a forward thinking rural practice that incorporates many services in one location, general practice, urgent-care, x-rays, district nursing, well-child service, public and allied health services, serving a static community of over 5,000 that increases to over 20,000 in the warmer months.

In this  role you will  be exposed to acute medical nursing and after hours emergency care.

Permanent General Practitioner with Teaching role in Rural General Practice

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with a special interest in teaching to join our team at Golden Bay Community Health.   

This is a permanent post of 24-32 hours per week (flexible) with additional on call.

The on call component covers after hours Mon-Fri and weekends and is a 1:7 roster.

As an integrated healthcare facility, GP sessions are interspersed with management of acute presentations and we offer arrange of services on site including x ray and simple fracture management, thrombolysis, IV treatments.  Additionally, we have five acute beds, providing acute, hospice, and respite care for our community.

 The post also includes on-call responsibilities designed to maintain 24-7 medical cover for the community (approx. 1 in 7) - rural ACC and PRIME contracts apply.

 Additionally, there will be appropriate time allocated for taking the lead in teaching medical students, house surgeons and GP registrars.

The successful applicant will be employed by Nelson Bays PHO and salaried according to experience. This includes 6 weeks annual leave; 2 weeks study leave and a generous educational allowance.

We require:

 24-32 hours (0.6-0.8 FTE)

1 in 7 on call - week nights and weekends 

PRIME trained & current Level 7 ACLS.

Teaching interest/experience

Fellowship with RNZCGP or equivalent, or on the pathway towards Fellowship

 We prefer:

Rural experience, although a thorough orientation will be provided.
