Business Manager/Practice Manager-Stoke & Waimea Medical Full-time or Job-Share Part-time

One of the most well-established and longest running locally owned and operated GP surgeries in the Nelson-Tasman region has a full-time or job-share part-time opening for an experienced manager (preferably with practice manager experience). 

Stoke Medical was established over 60 years ago in Stoke and has recently expanded with the opening of a second branch, Waimea Medical, in Richmond.  With this new chapter as Stoke & Waimea Medical, we are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic manager to join our friendly, collaborative and hard-working team.
We are a five GP partner practice with an assistant practice manager, and a strong team of GP associates, nurse practitioners, nurses, health care assistants and reception/administration staff, serving over 12,000 registered patients.

Job description (some of which can be shared with our assistant practice manager) includes:

Overseeing the day-to-day running of the practice

  • Managing practice finances (including day-to-day finances, preparing accounts, business planning/forecasting, financial reporting)

  • Managing staff recruitment and rostering

  • Chairing weekly management meetings

  • Managing patient feedback

  • Maintaining the overall high standards of the practice (e.g. through Foundation Standards & Cornerstone Accreditation)

  • Practice improvement and development

Skill requirements include:

  • Confident leadership skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong organisational and IT skills

  • Excellent financial management skills

  • Good working knowledge of the primary healthcare system desirable
