Kim Ngawhika

Kim is of Te Arawa (Bay of Plenty) and Ngai Tahu (Otago/Stewart Island) decent. Whakatū was middle ground for her parents. As a child she had many trips that involved either geysers or Mutton-birds. 

Kim has three beautiful girls, two of which attend Otago University, studying law, medicine and Māori studies, the youngest is in her last year at college. 

Kim has a teaching back-ground, having spent a number of years abroad in Montessori schools, she completed a Masters in Management, with a Health Service focus in 2016. 

Kim is the current Kaiwhakahaere (General Manager) of Whakatū Marae. 

Kim is a big fan of Nodic Noir and enjoys keeping active with yoga, water sports and dog walking.
