Talofa lava, Bula Vinaka, Kia orana, Mālō e lelei and warm pacific greetings. My name is Taifau Simeona Sau (AKA Tai/Sims). I was born in Samoa but went to School and University here in NZ.

Tai has over 10 years experience in the education sector, as well as 7 years in the Pacific Health sector in Hawkes Bay. He has traveled the Pacific nations including Tonga, Fiji, Solomon Islands and Samoa to extend his learning about Pasifika culture and identity.

In 2021 Tai relocated to Nelson with his family and joined Nelson Bays Primary Health in 2022 as Health Coach and Health Coach Lead before taking on the Mental Health and Addiction Services Manager at the end of 2022. Tai enjoys working in the Mental Health space as it challenges him to think outside the box, no day is the same but an opportunity to make a positive impact in someone’s life. He feels privileged to have been given the opportunity to manage and lead this space, to enable individuals to better their health and wellbeing. Tai’s background as a teacher, as well as in Pasifika Health, has helped shape the way he works in the Mental Health Services here in Nelson.

He loves spending quality time with his wife and four children as family is his priority and of great value to him. He enjoys reading, gardening, fishing, and playing golf in his spare time.

Soifua ma ia manuia.
