Falls Prevention is a free service provided to you if you are over 65 years, have a falls risk and can answer yes to any of these questions:
Have you had a fall in the past 12 months?
Are you on 4 or more medications?
Do you have a fear of falling?
More Stable, More Able Programme
This is a free 2.5 hour session for anyone who is at risk of or has had a fall. Information is shared in a relaxed, informal group setting.
The topics covered are:
Helping you to maintain independence
Causes of falling
Focus on strength and balance exercises
Community strength and balance classes
Making your home safer
How to maintain bone strength
Eating well to stay on your feet
To access the service, you will be referred by your general practice (family doctor) or community agency.
