Skin Lesion Service

The Skin Lesion Service provides high quality skin lesion removal services within primary care. The service works in collaboration with Te Whatu Ora to reduce the demand on secondary care.

How to access the service?

If you require the service, your general practice (family doctor) will make a referral. The referrals are then triaged by one of our GPSI (General Practitioner with a Specialist Interest) doctors and a General Surgeon based at Nelson Hospital. Referrals are then referred on to either secondary care, back to your own general practice for removal or a GPSI doctor at Nelson Bays Primary Health.
